The 250+ works featured in the book are pieces found in the exhibition of the same name held from 2014-2015 in the Kumamoto and Aichi prefectures, Japan.
The art works are presented in chronological order and by project, from his earlier character design pieces for Gatchaman and Casshern to Vampire Hunter, and more.
From time to time I seem to see visual affinity to Gustav Klimt: Complete Paintings paintings in Amano's art works, especially in their use of the color gold and elaborate floral themes.
Found at the end of the book are two detailed forwards written for both the exhibitions in Japanese, English and Chinese for some additional background on Yoshitaka Amano's work.
