It flows nicely and goes well into depth about the singer's past in Zanzibar and his obvious wish to hide his upbringing, God knows why.
Good personality profile; nonjudgmental delivery gives examples of his behavior which suggest that while he was very outgoing, he privately felt like a "misfit". I highly recommend this book."

- I recently read another biography of the incomparable Freddie Mercury, but this version delved even more deeply into his background. Lesley-Ann Jones certainly did her homework in trying to track down details of the elusive singer's life. Her conversations with Freddie's last boyfriend, Jim Hutton, and Freddie's Austrian girlfriend, Barbara Valentin, were quite sad and emotional. Even 25 years later, the loss of this tremendously gifted artist is deeply felt by his fans. A very good read indeed! Freddie--we hardly knew ye, and that's how you wanted it. But your fans loved your work and admired your zest for life. Rest in peace.
